About

Who We Are

  • Librarians, administrators and support staff.
  • A community of librarians of public and private academic institutions.
  • The Nebraska chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of ALA.

Our Goals

  • To provide a forum for librarians of public and private academic institutions.
  • To promote professional growth and development.
  • To enhance the quality of academic librarianship in Nebraska.
  • To provide a professional communication network for academic librarians.
  • To maintain a supportive relationship with the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Benefits of Membership

  • An annual spring conference with a program of paper presentations, workshops or seminars.  This conference is an opportunity for learning, and if your presentation proposal is accepted, an arena in which to present your experience and research.
  • Opportunities to network with other Nebraska academic librarians.
  • Grants for professional development and research support are available to section members.
  • Volunteering for C&U committees means working with other Nebraska academic librarians in ways that expand your professional contacts and your professional service record.

Dues

  • Members of the College and University Section also must be members of the Nebraska Library Association.  Membership in C&U as well as other sections and roundtables are subject to dues.  See the membership page for associated dues.
