We will be offering training in the form of a panel discussion with real world examples from library and community leaders.  In addition to the NLA Lobbyist and their staff talking about state-level advocacy, we will also have several city and regional representatives from across the state that will be attending to talk about successful advocacy from their perspective.  Pat Leach, Director of the Lincoln City Library System will also be contributing to the panel.  We will start the day at 9 AM with this training at the offices of Rembolt Ludtke LLP, 3 Landmark Centre, 1128 Lincoln Mall, Suite 300, Lincoln, NE  68508. Attend, listen, ask questions and learn!

From there we will head to the Capitol building to network with state senators and their staff.    Our efforts are aimed at raising awareness among state legislators and staff about how and why libraries are vital to communities across Nebraska.

Finally, make plans to host your Senator or their staff member for the noon Advocacy Day luncheon at the Cornhusker Marriott.  Former Nebraska State Senator Galen Hadley will be joining us as our guest speaker.  Sen. Hadley served multiple terms in the legislator and has been an ardent supporter and advocate for libraries for many years

Don't forget to make contact with your Senator to extend a personal invitation to lunch! CLICK HERE if you do not know your Legislative District. For a complete list of Nebraska State Senators and their contact information, CLICK HERE.

Don't forget to nominate outstanding library volunteers! Please send your nomination letter to Scott Childers at [email protected] by Friday, February 28, 2020.  Nominations should be in the form of a short letter that tells us about the volunteer, what they do for the library, and why they are amazing!
