Just a reminder that if you have not registered for the Annual NLA/NEMA Conference to be held in Grand Island on Oct 13-15, that there is still time to do so. We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone who has already registered! Your attendance guarantees a great conference.

As you might remember, the theme for this year’s conference is “Celebrating the Past, Creating the Future”. In support of this theme, join us for Thursday’s keynote “Past to the Future: Meeting Technology Trends” by Joe Murphy, from Yale University Science Libraries.

Joe is a is a leading innovator and trend spotter at the forefront of designing strategies for meeting the changing technological landscape. He presents and writes regularly about technology and service trends as well as best practices for exploring and implementing emerging and mobile technologies. Joe received the Library Journal ‘Movers & Shakers’ award in 2009; and is also the author of the influential Twitter account libraryfuture, known for setting technology trends within the library and publishing communities.

Early Registration has already ended, but Late Registration continues through September. All Late Registrations and payments must be received at the NLA office by October 1st. Registrations received after October 1 will be held at the registration desk, and any additional fees that may apply for on-site registration will be assessed at that time. Remember, if you are running short on time, you can register on-line and pay immediately by credit card (through PayPal).

Because of our size, the conference will be held at two sites, Midtown Holiday Inn and Riverside Howard Johnson. The conference will be providing transportation between both sites.

Additional information is being added daily to our website at: http://nebraskalibraries.org/conference/2010/

Register now and don’t miss this chance to network with and learn from your colleagues as we celebrate the past and create the future!
