<li>What are the conceptual models?</li>

<li>Who is currently testing it?</li>
<li>When will we see analysis and results?</li>
<li>Why transcribe and eliminate abbreviations?</li>
</ul>
<p>Dr. Sheila Siegler presented &#8220;History of the Book&#8230;the Story Continues&#8221; to 30 attendees also on Thursday. Questions she covered in her session includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>What is the difference between parchment and paper?</li>
<li>What is a deckle and how does it relate to deckle-edged paper?</li>
<li>Why is/was it called “uppercase” and “lowercase” letters?</li>
<li>Do you have the patience and time to sew a book’s binding?</li>
<li>How was gold inlaid into the spine?</li>
<li>Have artist’s ever created paintings on the edges of a book?</li>
<li>How many times must you fold a paper to get an octavo fold? Why is it important to know how a page fold’s together when printing?</li>
</ul>
<p>Laura England presented &#8220;Migration Tips and Tricks&#8221; on Friday to 8 attendees and covered such questions as:</p>
<ul>
<li>Why choose Software as a Service (SaaS)?
<ul>
<li>Increased energy efficiency, portability (can log in from anywhere)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>What is a reasonable amount of time for implementation?</li>
<li>Should you think about the data/catalog? Consider inventory.</li>
<li>Should you consider testing how an upgrade is handled?</li>
<li>Should you negotiate for a test/training database for the SaaS?</li>
<li>Why is it important to talk to others who have done this before?</li>
<li>Is it important to back up your data and customizations?</li>
<li>What survives migration?</li>
</ul>
