Internationalized Top Level Domain Names

Have you ever thought about how fair it is that folks all around the world have to learn a bit of English just to surf the web? How so, well, have you ever seen a URL not using roman characters? How easy can that be for speakers and readers of Chinese, Russian, Hebrew or Arabic? As of about a week ago, the folks at ICANN have started solving that problem. Here’s the official announcement along with two videos that explain just what this will mean for the Net and how it will work.
